Brand communication - part 1

Il filo conduttore assicura la continuità di senso nello svolgimento di un racconto.
La metafora del filo comunica sia il legame tra parti distinte, sia la guida, un timone che dà direzione a un viaggio.
Abbiamo scelto di utilizzare la metafora del filo per l'allestimento della reception della nuova sede milanese di un'azienda operante in 85 paesi nel segmento delle ricerche di mercato survey based, la cui missione è aiutare i clienti a capire meglio i loro mercati, i loro clienti e i cambiamenti del mondo.

Una corda, con i due colori corporate e retroilluminata da un "filo" di neon, disegna il profilo della mappa del mondo definendo continenti e paesi uniti in una unica realtà aziendale.

Memory Lamp. Musa Boom designs a recycled lamp

The project arises from two real common situations. 

The first: in previous years, before iphone apps appeared, we were used to collect a lot of maps of cities and places we visited for journey or holidays. I love maps because they both represent the journey's state of mind and the identity of places. For that reason I always want, when possible, to keep them under my eye at home but the number of walls at home are a finite number... 

The second: it happens that an old inherited lampshade can be damaged after several years or can be too old style for our apartments. 

And so what to do with maps and lampshade? 

Throwing them away in the garbage doesn't sound good to me. 

So the idea to dress with maps the lampshade to keep vivid and luminous memories of our personal journeys. 

To do that you need vynilic glue, water, paintbrush, shissor and a little of handycraft.

Milan Design Week 2011 - Ultra Gamma

A boost towards the future where emotions will be designed by colours of ultra gamma rays that currently do not exist. Five giant cones under LED technology lighting, controlled by a workstation, featuring changeable hue and lighting intensities depending on the colour chosen by each person.

White Elephant an austrian design studio works on exploration and excitation of materials, always searching for their hidden qualities. The Ballon Light is a product that stimulates the senses, encourages play and creates emotions. A Helium filled balloon lampshade with a diameter of 80 cm. When plugged into a current tap it emits smooth cordial light, floating above the ground, swinging in the air. When unplugged, the lamp gently climbs up to the ceiling and waits for its deployment. Milan Design Week 2011 - Fisherman light

The Swedish designer Mattias Ståhlbom from TAF studio has created this polypropylene light in a hand knitted net for Swedish design brand Zero. This lights, called Fisherman, are based on old fashioned glass fishing floats once used by fishermen in many parts of the world to keep their nets afloat. The nets are individually hand knitted in Hönö on the west coast of Sweden.

Diameter 650 mm and 400 mm. E27 or compact flourescent 1x26-42W.

Hybrid light

 

Private collection

Description: Lamp assembled using components of chairs and equipment for photo shoots.
Challenge: to identify the functions and the elements present in some objects that can be applied in the design for a new lamp.
Solution 1: a tripod used in photo shoots, extended like a telescope to reach different heights, becomes the support of a new lamp as needed changes its height.
Solution 2: a basic 3-spoke support a swivel seat becomes the medium of a lamp by inserting an arm moves in an eccentric way to achieve different spaces.

 
Luce ibrida - Collezione privata

Descrizione: Lampada assemblata utilizzando componenti di sedie e apparecchiature per set fotografici.
Sfida: individuare delle funzioni e degli elementi presenti in alcuni oggetti che possano essere applicati nel progetto di una nuova lampada.
Soluzione 1: un cavalletto utilizzato nei set fotografici, estendibile come un telescopio per raggiungere altezze diverse, diventa il supporto di una nuova lampada che a seconda delle esigenze cambia la sua altezza.
Soluzione 2: una base a 3 razze supporto di una seduta girevole diventa il supporto di una lampada che grazie all’inserimento di un braccio si sposta in modo eccentrico per raggiungere spazi diversi.

Report2010 - Rinnovare il passato

Nella tradizione araba alcuni porta candele da tavolo in ottone sono finemente lavorati e traforati per creare  giochi di luce che sommano al tremolio della candela la geometria del traforo. Sono oggetti progettati per un preciso effetto luminoso con un'estetica dai toni caldi dell'ottone lucido, perfetta per ambienti pieni di materiali opachi: tappeti, arazzi, cuscini. La bellezza è ottenuta dal contrasto dell'ottone luminoso e riflettente con l'arredo scuro e opaco. Durante un viaggio in Egitto sono rimasta affascinata da questi oggetti e dalla sapiente progettazione della luce di chi ignoto designer di secoli fa ha ideato. Penso che mai potrei acquistare oggetti della tradizione di un popolo reinterpretati da chi di quella tradizione sembra non aver colto pienamente l'essenza. Mi chiedo quale sia il senso.
